Our lead research assistant Farez Parmar took second place home at PURC 2025!
“Adaptive Attention: A Rhesus Macaque’s Visual Preferences for Ecologically Relevant Content” focused on how a Rhesus Macaque allocated their attention when free to choose what to watch. Using a touchscreen task, results found that the Rhesus Macaque strongly preferred conspecific videos, over food, animals, nature, and novel-object videos, highlighting how primates prioritize socially relevant information.
